Chris Wubbels
Consultant & Solutions Architect with Build Experience
Six years working out of my own consulting practice, 18+ years involving infrastructure. I’m looking to shift the balance of my work — less general business strategy and operations, more infrastructure design and build.
My consulting background means I know how to gather requirements, translate business problems into technical solutions, and manage client relationships through implementation. What I want more of is the building itself — working with engineers on architecture, deployment, and the hands-on infrastructure work.
Looking for roles where I can bring client-facing sensibilities to a builder position, ideally on a team where I can deepen my technical practice alongside capable peers.
Featured: Consultant, Architect, Builder — I've been having a great time this year using LLMs to speed up my exploration and learning. It now takes about a weekend to get familiar with stuff that would've required over a month in the past.
Stuff I’ve Been Into Recently
- Prompt caching: 10x cheaper LLM tokens, but how? – I’m captivated by the idea that semantic meanings can be mapped in high-dimensional space. Working to get a better handle on both the theory, and technical applications.
- Stalwart in Docker - Experimenting with setting up container based self-hosted email, ideally in a horizontally scalable architecture built around an EC2 backed ECS.
- Omarchy - Trying this on my backup laptop and loving it. Please: Hyprland for my MacBook Pro. (And also “I use Arch, btw”.)
